Here is a pictorial on the raising of the World's Largest Kilt on the Golden Driller in Tulsa, Oklahoma.

We did this to get into the Guinness Book of World Records, promote the Oklahoma Scottish Festival and to raise funds for both the Wounded Warrior Project in the US and Help for Heroes in the UK.

The kilt is roughly 25 feet long with a waist of 46 feet. We used Blackwatch tartan with the set increased five times larger than a normal kilt.

I want to thank the Frugal Corner Kilt store for helping us get this monstrously huge piece of tartan woven for this project!

As you can see, the Tulsa Fire Department from station 4 came to our aid as well. Thanks you guys!

( if you look in the bucket of the red lift, you can see me driving. they let me drive it! :) )

A U.S. VETERAN - Whether active duty, retired, national guard or reserve - is someone who, at one point in his or her life, wrote a blank check made payable to "The United States of America", for an amount of "up to, and including, my life." That is honor, and there are way too many people in this country who no longer understand it. Author unknown.

yes, there are a dozen or so pleats in the back, but they are splayed out due to the Driller's open stance. We did sew the fell down about six feet or so for the pleats.
