I was wondering if the Kilts for Troops program was still active. A friend of mine recommended I submit my Marines and my name to the email address listed on the website. I followed my buddy's advise but I have not received a message back. I am currently foward deployed with the 22 MEU aboard the USS Bataan.

Semper Fi. I had several buddies with the 22 MEU back in the 90's. We were out of Bogan Field and Cherry Point.

yes, kilts for troops is always alive and well. I do not have any shirts left for sale, but if donations are give for Kilts for Troops, the arrangements will be made to get the kilt out.

I already have the t-shirt. Let me know and I'll kick in for the kilt(s) - (sounds like it might be more than one).

As a former 26th MEU Marine, welcome. As a kiltmaker who has volunteered to help with this program, I look forward to seeing you kilted in the field.

It's been a while since I have been able to check in on the forum due to the ship's communications and I wanted to drop in and give everyone an update on our status. We are still deployed currently being used as the lead force for humanitarian relief in Haiti aboard the USS Bataan. We have been out here since Mid Jan and will stay until the affected areas are returned to normal. If you want to help out down here I would say the best way to would be to donate to one of the non-profit organizations currently support the rebuilding of Haiti, because they will be here long after we leave.
