    Thanks Crisp. I appreciate your comments. I've forged a few, but had to finish them the hard way by hand. I'll be sure and check out that fellow you suggested. I also make some of the regimental style knives but all that silver work for the scabbard and basket weave carving on the bog oak is very time consuming. I'm sure I'll be posting some of my other knives once I figure out where that kind of thing goes.
  2. Hi, I'm Knapper (Ben) from Arkansas. I joined primarily because I love to make sgian dubhs and am working towards larger blades. I figure some folks here might have some good information for me, tips, etc. I'll post pictures of my latest creation, which is a piece of white-tailed deer antler with sterling silver fittings and a bog oak pommel. I also make traditional pieces, but this one is nice I think. The blade is a UK made dress blade. I haven't got the equipment to forge, grind and heat treat blades yet, but maybe one day. Anyway, it's going to be fun looking around this site.
