New Belt!

Recommended Posts

This is a new belt I made it's two E4-1 bias strips connected by a seam. The E4-1 is 16G 1/4" SS square wire and the seam is 16G 5/16" SS square wire. I used 16G 5/16" for the seam so that the hook of the Gryphon belt buckle would fit through. It's pretty wearable unfortunately the top of the buckle pokes my beer gut if I sit leaning forward.

Here's a pic of it being worn.

Here's a closeup of the buckle.

Here's a long shot of the belt.

And here's a closeup of the belt itself where you can clearly see the larger rings in the seam and the squareness of the wire.

I've been wanting to make this for awhile and I had a large sheet of E4-1 already made so I chopped that down into bias strips and put this together in about two hours last night. When I get another Kilt this will most likely become my next belt for it. Comments and critiques welcome. Thanks for looking.

Thats awesome! Does anyone have any links on how to do this? I can do a basic E4-1 maille, but are there any online tutorial explaining how to put in that seam?
