I found a bit more info on my family tree after a local newspaper article, and the extra generation it brought up fixed the roadblock, and then the tree merged with some DAR resources, and now, it seems I can trace the tree all the way back to Sir William Alexander (the elder, not the younger) which sure beats the old road block of a few generations back and no idea just how the family got here. Sure, it still leaves the question 'What happened to the most recent Amos Jr' (he only got married because she was going to sue him, which is why there are engagement rings now.... and then she divorced him and married another guy (a McConnell I think, who was her neighbour) the very next day. (Fishy to me, but hey....)

it is, I think part of it was I came across the right people a dozen times, but I was missing 1 guy between them, and once I found him...
