Part of your issue may have to do with construction. Usually there isn't fur on the back of sporrans. The wool and fur WILL rub together and the fur will get the worst from the situation.

A little shedding is normal. If you're shedding a lot there may be a problem with hair slippage (which is a problem resulting from bad tanning or too much moisture- if you shaped or stretched the hide).

Is there any visible loss of hair (Bald patches), or is it just some stray hairs coming out?

Well it was the first time wearing it out. I will have to keep and eye on it i guess. The pelt already had a bald patch on it. What would be a suggestion to minimizing hair loss if it does continue to loose lots of fur? Would cementing i think piece leather on the inside somehow keep the hair from being pulled out as easy?

Should have expected that because most of us are, I was going to suggest the hair club for sporrans where not only is your sporran a client it's also the Vice President. But on a more serious note artificer knows more about it than I do since I deal mostly with leather.

Men DO NOT lose hair when they get older they simply can no longer resist gravity. That is why the hair is pushed down from their heads and pops out their nose and ears so much. It is simply relocated. For some reason my body feels I need a thick pelt on my chest back and ears. Is this a sign of a coming ice age? maybe.

Saltpeter!!! Yep, it'll keep things behind your sporran all soft and pliable, causing less friction. This works well, assuming the fur is rubbing off the back of your sporran and not the front. :thumleft:
