(I know your from the greater cincy area, are you are the part of the region that has no concept of actual rivalry?
(Cincy is a weird place, the concept of OSU-UM rivalry is lost on them, heck, even seems to Dayton care more about Bengals-Steelers than the people in Cincy.)

I grew up there, and still have family there. No concept of rivalry? Are you speaking of the OSU-scUM rivalry specifically, or rivalries in general? I can tell you for a fact that we certainly do understand that rivalry, even if we don't eat, drink, and breathe it like the extremists do here in Columbus. And if we care more about the Bengals-Steelers (or Ravens, or Browns), or the Reds Cubs/Cardinals/Brewers, it's because they are a bit closer to home.
As far as the color, if you've seen some of the same shirts, artwork, face-paint, etc. I have, you'd know that no one really pays THAT much attention to it.

When you see Ohio State, the 'wrong' color only has 1 answer. And hey, the Spartans have their own tartan!

I wasn't talking badly about the quality of the work, they look nice. I want you to stop and really think on this though Keith, had you not moved to Columbus, and had stayed in Cincy, would your response above really be the same? My wife is from there as well (Deer Park) and her family is still largely there. I lived and worked down there for a while as well, and while I am sure the over the top fanaticism/pride that you see in Columbus regarding OSUcks/UM is fitting for being the 'home' area, you should see how it plays out near Dayton and the small towns on and just off 75 north of Greater Cincinnati. You will see UM flags flying across the street from OSU flags, Bengals and Browns fans still trying to one up each other. There are a fair number of the 'house divided' flags too.
The weirder part for me was that to the people in Cincy, the M on a hat didn't mean Michigan, it mean Meuller.
