I saw on the SportKilt site that they have a kilt called the "Comfy Kilt". Its in Black Watch only, which is no bother to me, and its like only $50.
SportKilt Comfy Kilt
Has anybody gotten one, or know somebody who's gotten one???
Is it worth while or just not worth the time???

it looks really interesting, although I don't know how well flannel will hold a pleat.

Wow ok, old thread but what the hey...I just got one of these about 3 wks ago and as stated above, they are really just for cruisin around the house, watching tv and of course pajamas! The pleats do not hold at all and this is suggested on the item page (from sport kilt) ...Note: these kilts are great for lounging around, but we don't recommend wearing them out in public....
However, it is possibly the most comfortable piece of misshapen flannel I have ever owned! I wear it nightly, 7 days a week.
BTW...Its great to be a new member! First time poster, long time kilt wearer...
One post down...many to come!

I'm going to have to agree with the consensus here. I own a sportkilt in cotton flannel. It's in the Black Stewart tartan. It will NOT hold a pleat to save my life! I even sewed down the pleat edges to help me find them for ironing. (that bunchy elastic makes finding the pleat darn near impossible at times!) Even with the extra sewing added, still looks like a mess..
BUT....
It IS darned comfy!!!!
It's my house kilt. I come home from work, shower, and on goes the house kilt till bedtime. I love it for that. I would never wear it out in public, (maybe down to get the mail at the corral ) but around the house it is perfect for lounging and odd jobs. Mine is currently sporting the badges of honor of spilled paint from a Honey-do project, a bit of a bleach stain from washing some brewing equipment... the usual clutz moments I have. lol
So, for what it is, a comfy lounge kilt, it's DA-bomb! Kilt night out....Not so much.
BTW, welcome to the forum rynomyte.

Hey Rygar thanks!
Glad you enjoyed that, KT! I wondered if anyone would get a kick out of that.....

I love my comfy kilt and wear it almost every night. As other brothers have said it does not hold a pleat well, but I iron mine about once a week, and that keeps it looking pretty sharp, but not sharp enough to wear out, but certainly good enough for doing yard work outside. It is by far the most comfortable garment I have ever worn, I'm glad I added it to my collection. I will not let my wife wash it, as I am afraid she will ruin it, so I do the cleaning my self.
