Greeting.

I just ordered (out for delivery today!) my very first kilt.  Its the sport utility Kilt from d@mn near Kilt'em.  I did get a funny look from my wife when I told her I wanted one.  I figured I would give it a try and if I like it, I'll get one made in my family tartan. I do have a question though...

What shoes do most of you wear?  I've mostly seen boots.  Are sneaker appropriate or is it mostly personal preference?

Thanks for you help,

Welcome, from Oklahoma.

My footwear depends on the occasion. For runs I wear my running shoes, for something nicer I wear my

Ghillie Brogue. But for normal everyday I usually wear my hiking boots, I really need to get a pair of Ghillie boots.

Agreed. Dress for the occasion. One point of the kilt is comfort so your shoes should be too. Here I'm sporting hiking boots for hiking Cumberland island.

Welcome aboard.

I'm pretty new at kilts myself. I live in a flip-flop kind of town and haven't had an opportunity to dress up for anything in quite a while. That said, I go barefoot everywhere whether in a kilt or not. I only have a sport kilt and a utility kilt so far.
