Animal Mask Sporrans

Recommended Posts

I am really wanting to get an animal mask sporran. Dread seemed to be against it since he believed that it was cruel to animals or something like that. I do not own any animal mask sporrans yet and wanted to get your guy's and gal's opinions on the matter. Do you think it is cruel? I don't have any problems with using these types of sporrans and think they are very nice and really good looking.

Speaking from the perspective of a Hunter's daughter and hunter myself... no. Fine to hang them on your wall, but staring at the face of a wolf over your ahem... well that's just creepy.

Good alternative to fur underwear. Less itch. :wavey:

I think a canine would be over the top-and too big.

But generally, though I don't have one, I've seen some handsome ones. Usually by folks who harvested the animal themselves and used all the other "bits" too.

But even a coyote or a fox head would be too big.

I'm thinking of that one Black Adder episode when it was a case of the ever-enlarging codpiece.

Yikes! Clears throat. How 'bout them Giants, eh?!

Getting back to full mask sporrans.........

we do have this one cat that once he shuffles off his mortal coil (naturally), he'll be perfect as a tea cozy!!!!!

I just finished this fella. Procyon lotor "thorfinnii", a.k.a Regulus.

His head comes off. You could add a fur flap or a leather flap.

Prices are on my website. No Jonesing.

I like fur. It's fluffy and soft. And hey, they're dead anyway. It's like the lotto. Somebody's gonna wear it - might as well be you.

I love it........I have a badger sporran with the head for the flap, not nearly as nice as the fox you have there.

I think it's a coyote

Craigie makes beautiful sporrans. I think they have a professional taxidermist on staff

I'm staying right away from the beaver comments.

We have a couple of fox & coyote masks the wife got off ebay with just this idea in mind., The rest of the pelts went to the fur trade, so why not make use of the masks? Just need the matching fur...
