The machine is helpful, but a bit of knowledge can go a long way.

And anybody can learn that, given some time and effort.

That said, you can have the best machine money can buy and if you don't know what you are doing the machine is as useless as tits on a hog.

If we could get together for a weekend, I could show you how to put a machine through its paces and a few basics.

All right I guess I am really jumping in. A lady in another department at work has an old "Industrial Grade Singer". She said it is no frills but would probably sew through about 6 layers of leather (powered by a Chevy Big Block I guess). I guess her husband got it to make his own canvas tool bags and it is now just sitting.

Now I will have to sink or swim. Then a little down the line start trying to glean some knowledge from my new Brethren to make my strokes more B-E-A-U-tiful.
