  1. I tried some in Savannah at the Savannah Bee Company this past summer. They have a tasting bar in the back. For x dollars, like five bucks, you can try a small glass of several meads. Pretty good but I still prefer my Guinness.
  2. You're right. No reason needed. Just kilt it. My wife and I hiking Cumberland Island this summer. Good times, good times.

Meet and eat at Meehan's Public House in downtown Atlanta. 200 Peachtree Street, Atlanta, Georgia. 30303
  4. Glad your back and well again. Sorry for loss. We wouldn't mind some of that rain in Georgia but not like that. Be safe and kilt on.
  5. I'm still waiting for my new summer weight kilt from them so I'm a little jealous .
  6. My good old Leatherneck kilt though I've worn my comfy kilt from Sport Kilt while lounging around the house this summer.
  7. Yea. No one likes unsolicited advice delivered rudely. Kind words of correction are better received and will encourage the corrected wearer to Kilt On.
  8. I prefer the cooler weather. The summers in Georgia are so intense. Not a surprise since it is on the same latitude as North Africa. I wore my Sports Kilt while hiking Cumberland island. A wool one might have been too much.
  9. Well, a full heavy wool Scottish kilt can run $400-600. I just ordered a lighter weight kilt from USA kilt for $229. A simpler design I have is a sport kilt which they will make with straps and belt loops for just North of $110-120. Anything less I would avoid so you down look like wannabe. Inexpensive sporrans can be found on Amazon. Hope to see you at Stone Mountain strutting with pride in your new kilt.
  10. Good idea. I'd like to see one come together in Georgia.
  11. Dude, just add a sprig to your favorite sporran and see what happens. (Wink, wink)
  12. Good for you. If you get set up sooner instead of later, you'll be ready for the Stone Mountain highland games in October.
  13. I've enjoyed my new sporran from these folks. They'll make any combination of materials they offer for the same price as any of their equal standard sporran. I chose the wildebeest hide and the stag cantle. If you're looking for a new sporran and are considering an unique hide, check them out. Shipping took about 8 days longer than they estimate but it was from South Africa. They were very responsive to my inquiries and changes.

    what is perfection?

Yup. As much as I respect the traditions, the garment will not survive unless we lighten up a bit. Going to a white tie/black tie affair? Okay. Wear all the right stuff. Going out for a pint in 95 degree weather in Georgia? A little comprise is ok. Otherwise you'll be passed out from heat exhaustion pretty quickly.
  15. You should have seen what he was doing with the hand dryer.
