  1. This past Sunday I was on one of my hikes in nearby Moraine State Park clad with digital camo kilt and short sleeve shirt Other than a black snake sunning itself and flushing a grouse out it had been a rather quiet hike. The entire trip wound up being about 7.5 miles long. On the way back I heard a noise in back of me. As I turned I spotted a black bear coming my way within 40 yards. As I went to get my smartphone out to get a picture it turned and started running away. It couldn't have been camera shy, it must have known to fear kilted ones.
  2. Finally have been able to fit some hiking into my schedule. Having now done it kilted I can't imagine doing it in p@nt$. Very comfortable. Any interest for some group hikes? There is no shortage of places in southwestern and southcentral PA.
  3. Hi Folks Recently I have finally had the time to go on some kilted hikes in western PA. First times hiking kilted. Very comfortable. Ease of movement is important when the terrain changes. People I met along the way, although not kilted, were friendly and talkative. There are no shortages of places to hike in southwestern and south central PA. Is there any interest in group hikes?
  4. Scottish scouts hiking, in our area: http://www.therecordherald.com/article/20130709/NEWS/130709882
  5. Even wind and train cant stop a great adventure, nor fog nor stone. http://digitalnomad.nationalgeographic.com/2013/01/13/hiking-the-highlands-in-a-kilt/
  6. My "athletics" include hiking. Love hiking in a kilt! Recently spent some time in the Idyllwild, CA wilderness area for a short stroll through the woods. Kilted on the Ernie Maxwell Trail
  7. Like many, I wore my first kilt in a wedding and instantly loved it. Since then, I have four kilts and wear them whenever I can. Most recently, I acquired a Hiker Kilt from Sport Kilt and road tested it a few weekends ago. Weather permiitting, my go-to hiking garment is a kilt. . My wife also is now hiking in her Sport Kilt and loves it just as much as I. Also enjoyed attending the Scotfest in Costa Mesa. My clan Scott kilt is reserved for special occasions, my Utilikilt is great for everyday wear and using a black kilt for evening concert venues. Next purchases will be a Prince Charlie Jacket to really dress things up. Cheers, all. Terry Tyson San Clemente, CA Kilted on the Ernie Maxwell Trail Kilted Men; A man and a half. I am the half.
