Famous Grouse Scotch

Recommended Posts

Has anyone ever tried Famous Grouse single malt. I just got an email from a whiskey site and it had Famous Grouse 15 yr. I have only seen blended and was not even aware FG made a single malt but the reviews I 've seen look pretty good. Any opinions?

I would try it before buying it. I really enjoy a good aged scotch, the peatier the better, and this isn't one I'd buy for myself.

I believe that Famous Grouse is a blend. Now a bunch of Scots who I know said this is the best blended Scotch in the world....unless things have changed it is a blend.

ST-103 is correct. All the "Grouse" Whisky labels are blends. That said, the Grouse distillery does a single malt called Glenturret.

Grouse is a very solid blend, btw.

It just so happens I have a bottle of Glenturrent, it was a gift that I haven't gotten around to opening yet. Cheers.
